Tony King's Pre-discographies - Checklist discographies of individual artists

The short listings on this site are mostly of contemporay artists ande are intended

• firstly to draw attention to early and possibly obscure recordings, which may now be unavailable but worth seeking if you collect the artist;
• secondly to make good the fact that in most cases published record guides cover only what is, or has recently been, available; and
• thirdly to save collectors the time needed to get the information from a variety of sources.

The information is gathered from general discographies and record guides, (listed below), and from reviews and notices published in magazines: listings include only commercially issued recordings, not those privately circulated, whether authorized or boot-legged.

No doubt there are omissions from these listings: a particular blank spot may be Japanese issues, especially those which have not been licensed to European or North American distributors. I should be glad of help in filling these gaps and keeping the listings up-to-date.
